Is Space 220 Worth It?

For those who may not know, Space 220 is a space-themed restaurant located in Epcot at Disney World. It offers a unique dining experience that simulates a journey to a space station 220 miles above Earth. This restaurant has become one of the most talked-about dining destinations in Disney due to its immersive setting and innovative design.

Reservations are still difficult to get but during our last trip, I was finally able to snag a lunch reservation for four of us. To make the most of this opportunity, I planned a special lunch experience for different family members.

While Juli, Jared, the girls, and my mom enjoyed a magical Princess lunch, I took my brother-in-law Dustin (who works at NASA), my space-obsessed nephew, and my dad to Space 220. Here’s why I think this dining experience is absolutely worth it at least once:

THE SPACE ELEVATOR EXPERIENCE

The adventure begins as soon as you step into the space elevator. This immersive experience simulates a journey 220 miles above Earth to the Centauri Space Station. The visual effects and sensation of ascent are truly spectacular and set the tone for the entire meal.

THE SETTING AND AMBIANCE

Once you arrive at the space station, you’re greeted with an awe-inspiring view of Earth from the restaurant’s large “windows.” The entire setting and ambiance are meticulously designed to make you feel like you’re dining among the stars. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience that captivates both adults and children alike. Our favorite? The fun things that you peek going by the space station windows such as an astronaut walking his dog or two astronauts fighting with their lightsabers!

A MEMORABLE MEAL

The menu at Space 220 offers a variety of creative options. From appetizers to entrees, the food is creatively presented and flavorful - fit for a fancy space station! The themed cocktails and mocktails add an extra layer of fun to the meal. My space-obsessed nephew was over the moon (pun intended) with the entire experience.

A HIGHLIGHT OF OUR TRIP

When I asked my dad later what his favorite part of the trip was, he actually said Space 220! That’s saying a lot, considering all the incredible experiences we had at Disney this year.

FINAL THOUGHTS

While I don't think this is a restaurant that needs to be done every trip—there are WAY too many good eats in Epcot—I definitely recommend you go to Space 220 at least once if you are able to snag a reservation. It’s an unforgettable experience that adds a unique and exciting element to your Disney adventure.
